Rim Lakes Recreation

There are multiple lakes on the Mogollon Rim and each of them offer different recreational opportunities, such as swimming, boating, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding. Make sure to spend a day at Woods Canyon Lake and Willow Springs Lake, both have easy access from the paved highway while Black Canyon Lake or Chevelon Canyon Lake take you through scenic dirt roads and an exhilarating hike.

It’s all about the view up here! Enjoy 100's of miles of trails around the Mogollon Rim and surrounding area on foot, by horse, by mountain bike or by ATV. If you’d rather enjoy the view from the comfort of your car, take to the scenic Rim Trail towards Wood Canyon Lake. You’ll go through epic pine forest and grassy meadows, with spectacular drop-offs that will take your breath away. You’ll pass campgrounds, lakes, hiking trails, and if you get really lucky, you may spot some wildlife!
